Typical Competitors

Manufacturing Transparency — Can You Visit Their Factory?

Gitsham builds everything in-house at our Australian facility — not imported, not outsourced. Customers are welcome to visit and see every step of the process.

Often imported or assembled from offshore parts. Most suppliers can’t show you their factory because they don’t make the products themselves.

Australian-Made or Just Assembled Here?

100% Australian-made from scratch, controlling every step from raw aluminium through fabrication, finishing, and final assembly.

Many “Australian” canopies are imported flat-packed, then bolted together locally after arriving in shipping containers.

Crash Testing & Safety Certification

Gitsham is the only Australian-made, crash-tested canopy on the market — our chassis-mounted system is proven to protect people, vehicles, and equipment in real-world impact conditions.

Most competitors have never conducted crash testing, meaning no verified safety performance or compliance data.

Mounting System — Chassis-Mounted or Tray-Top?

Gitsham canopies are chassis-mounted using our crash-tested, vehicle-specific mounting kits for superior safety, strength, and handling. Canopies can be transferred to your next vehicle, saving you money and extending lifespan.

Many are toolboxes bolted to trays, held down by a few bolts — heavier, higher, less stable, and unsafe in a collision (often marketed as “removable”).

Material Quality — What’s It Made From?

Built using marine-grade, structural aluminium — lightweight, corrosion-resistant, and designed for Australia’s harsh conditions.

Often made from lower-grade alloys or mixed materials with limited corrosion resistance and reduced strength-to-weight performance.

Finishing Process — How Is It Coated?

Every aluminium component is pre-treated using an environmentally conscious, RoHS & REACH-compliant process, then powder-coated inside and out for corrosion protection and colour consistency.

Commonly use wet spray paint or basic external coating only. Interior surfaces often unpainted or thinly coated, leading to faster corrosion and colour mismatch.

Standard Inclusions — Or Expensive Add-Ons?

Central locking, internal LED lighting, and rubber mat flooring are all standard inclusions — no upgrade packs required.

Often up sold as optional extras or unavailable at entry level.

Customers & Industry Trust

Trusted by Emergency Services, Defence, Government fleets, councils, national trade and mining operators who demand safety, reliability, and compliance.

Commonly used by small resellers or DIY installers. Rarely trusted by fleet or compliance-regulated industries.

Every Gitsham canopy and tray is engineered to perform, tested to protect, and made to last.

We use the same finishing standards demanded by Defence and emergency fleets because reliability is not optional.
